Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces the results of a DWI (driving while intoxicated) saturation conducted in Marion and Ralls counties on January 28, 2012. The saturation began at 10:00 p.m., and concluded at 2:00 a.m. on January 29, 2012. During this enforcement operation, officers patrolled specific areas with a goal of detecting impaired drivers and other traffic violations that contribute to traffic crashes. As a result of the operation, officers made 18 arrests and issued 26 warnings. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the saturation:

4 --Arrests for driving while intoxicated
1--Felony arrest for a drug violation
3-- Summonses issued for speed
5--Summonses issued for seat belt violations
2--Summonses issued for hazardous moving violations
3--Summonses issued for license violations

“Drinking and driving is very dangerous,” stated Captain Wilt. “The Missouri State Highway Patrol is very serious about removing the impaired driver from our roadways. If drinking is a part of your plans, choose a sober designated driver.”
