EMPHASIS: Results Of Sobriety Checkpoint In Lincoln County


Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint conducted on Saturday evening, August 6, 2011, in Lincoln County. During the five-hour operation, a total of 220 vehicles were checked with a total of 20 arrests being made. Of those, five summonses were written for other moving and non-moving violations, including seat belt and child restraint violations, and one summons was written for a speed violation. Four summonses were written for driver license violations and two for insurance violations. In addition, four subjects were arrested for DWI, three subjects were arrested for outstanding misdemeanor warrants and two subjects were arrested for misdemeanor drug possession.

Captain Johnson stated, "This was another successful checkpoint, and we would like to thank every person involved, especially members of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department.”
