EMPHASIS: Results Of Enforcement Operation On Elk River In McDonald County


Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, Springfield, announces the results of a joint enforcement operation between the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Missouri State Water Patrol on Elk River in McDonald County over the July Fourth weekend.

Troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol and officers with the Missouri State Water Patrol made a total of 101 arrests during the enforcement operation which began on Saturday, July 3, and concluded on Sunday, July 4. Arrests were made for the following violations: person under 21 in possession of intoxicating liquor, minor visibly intoxicated, supplying intoxicating liquor to person under 21, littering, possession of a glass bottle on stream or waterway, and misdemeanor drug violations. The operation marks the fourth year of combined efforts between the highway patrol and water patrol on Elk River during the holiday period.
