EMPHASIS: Plane Crash In Clinton County
On February 14, 2012, at 4:22 p.m., the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office notified Troop H of a reported downed aircraft in rural Clinton County. Officers responded to a farm in Osborn, Missouri, and located a 1967 Piper Cherokee single engine plane that had crashed in a pasture just north of the residence. The pilot and passenger died as a result of the crash.
Apparently, the pilot was flying past the residence and lost control. The plane then crashed into the field where it caught fire and partially burned. Both occupants of the plane were killed in the crash. The bodies of the deceased were taken to Kansas City, where an autopsy will be conducted and identification confirmed.
All media inquiries should be directed to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office regarding the identities of the occupants.
