EMPHASIS: Results Of DWI Saturations Conducted By Troop B Officers During The Month Of September 2012


Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces the results of DWI enforcement saturations conducted in the Troop B area during the month of September 2012.
During the month of September 2012, DWI enforcement saturations were conducted in Schuyler and Scotland counties on September 7 and in Randolph County on September 8. Each of the saturations began at 11 p.m. and concluded at 3 a.m. the next day. The goals of these traffic enforcement operations were to detect intoxicated drivers, hazardous moving, driving over the speed limit, and other traffic violations that contribute to traffic crashes. As a result of the operations, officers made 13 arrests and issued 26 warnings. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the saturations:

1 -- Arrest for driving while intoxicated
2 -- Arrests for misdemeanor warrants
2 -- Citations issued for exceeding the posted speed limit
2 -- Citations issued for seat belt and child restraint violations
1 -- Citation issued for a hazardous moving violation
3 -- Citations issued for a non-moving violations
1 -- Citation issued for a license violation
1 -- Citation issued for an insurance violation

"The Missouri State Highway Patrol is very serious about removing impaired drivers from our roadways," stated Captain Wilt. "If drinking alcohol is a part of your plans, please choose a sober designated driver."

The Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves from all types of hazardous drivers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Click It 4 Life!
