EMPHASIS: Patrol Announces DWI Saturations In Taney And Newton Counties

Captain Randy Beydler, commanding officer of Troop D, Springfield, announces that sometime during the month of May 2008, driving while intoxicated saturations will be conducted in Taney and Newton counties. The Missouri State Highway Patrol, in cooperation with local law enforcement agencies, will conduct the operations.
“Saturations and sobriety checkpoints are part of the Patrol’s concentrated effort to remove intoxicated drivers from Missouri’s highways,” said Captain Beydler. “The impaired driver continues to be a major contributor to serious traffic crashes in southwest Missouri.”
The Missouri State Highway Patrol urges all citizens to report any vehicle they observe operating in an unsafe manner. The public can contact the Highway Patrol toll-free at 1-800-525-5555 or on their cellular phone at *55.
