EMPHASIS: Troop H Promotion


Captain Duane L. Robinson, commanding officer of Troop H, St. Joseph, announces effective March 1, 2011, Sergeant Mark D. Harwell from Troop D, Springfield, MO, was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and assigned to Troop H, St. Joseph, MO.
Lieutenant Harwell joined the Patrol as a member of the 56th Recruit Class in 1984. Upon graduating, he was assigned to Troop G, at Ava, MO. In 1987, he transferred to Troop D, at Branson. In 1993, Harwell was promoted to the rank of corporal and remained at Branson. He was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 1999 and transferred to Nevada.
Harwell is the son of Kenneth and Muna Harwell, and was born in Salem, IL. He graduated from Salem Community High School in 1976. He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the College of the Ozarks. Lt. Harwell and his wife, Shannon (Compton), have three daughters, Jessica, Jaime, and Jenna.
