EMPHASIS: Results Of Sobriety Checkpoint In St. Louis County
Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint conducted on Friday evening, September 9, 2011, at Missouri Highway 21 and Meramec Bottom Road in St. Louis County. During the five-hour operation, 220 vehicles were checked with a total of 14 arrests being made. Of those, seven subjects were arrested for DWI, and two summonses were written for driver license violations. In addition, two subjects were arrested on active misdemeanor warrants, two subjects were arrested on active felony warrants, and one misdemeanor drug arrest was made.
Captain Johnson says, “Intoxicated drivers compromise the safety of themselves and of every person who travels the highways in St. Louis County. We will continue to do everything we can to remove these hazardous drivers from our highways.”
