EMPHASIS: Results of Sobriety Checkpoint In McDonald County

Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, Springfield, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint held in McDonald County on U. S. 71 at the interchange of Route H, on Saturday, July 9, 2011.

Eight troopers, one Pineville Police Officer, and one McDonald County Deputy stopped a total of 369 drivers and a total of 32 arrests were made and 28 warnings were issued during the four hour project. Totals from this checkpoint include:

12 -- Driving While Intoxicated Arrests
5 -- Child Endangerment Arrests
3 -- Felony Warrant Arrests
1 -- Misdemeanor Warrant Arrest
4 -- Non-Moving Violation Citations
6 -- Drivers License Citations
1 -- Seat Belt Citation
