EMPHASIS: New Scales Installed At Troop H Weigh Stations

Captain James E. McDonald, commanding officer Troop H, is pleased to announce the replacement of the commercial motor vehicle scales at the Post H4 South on Interstate 29 in Atchison County, Missouri, and Post H2 South on Interstate 35 in Harrison County, Missouri. Weigh stations are charged with inspecting commercial motor vehicles entering Missouri on both Interstate 29 and Interstate 35 within Troop H. The new scale platforms are a state of the art, three platform scale that will include a digital readout outside the scale house. This will allow commercial motor vehicle drivers to see their axle weights and gross weight while still sitting on the scale platform inside their vehicles.
The Post H2 weigh station opened in November 1989; the Post H4 scales opened in September 1990. Both sets of scales have outlived their life expectancy. The newly installed scales at both weigh stations are a welcome addition to commercial motor vehicle operations within Troop H.
In support of "The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths," the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
