EMPHASIS: Results Of School Enforcement Operation--Troop H

Captain James E. McDonald, commanding officer Troop H, announces the results of a special operation which targeted child restraint and seat belt violations in Trenton, Missouri. This operation was a cooperative effort between the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Trenton Police Department. The officers involved set up the operation near the Trenton schools with the main objective of targeting child restraint violations of arriving parents and students. The following is a list of enforcement contacts as a result of this operation:

9--Child restraint citations
7--Seat belt citations
2--No driver license citations
1--Driving while suspended citation
2--No insurance citations
1--Misdemeanor warrant arrest

“Child restraint and seat belt violations are one of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s top priorities,” states Captain McDonald. “It takes only a small amount of time to properly secure a child in a child restraint and only seconds to fasten your seat belt. It could save your life or the life of a child.”

In support of "The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths," the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
