EMPHASIS: Results Of Sobriety Saturation In St. Francois County
Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, announces the results of a driving while intoxicated saturation conducted on Saturday, May 7, 2011, in St. Francois County. Four Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers conducted the enforcement operation during the eight-hour project.
A total of 36 vehicles were stopped during the eight-hour operation. As a result of the enforcement program, a total of 28 arrests were made and 38 warnings were issued. Of the 28 arrests, three subjects were arrested for DWI, nine for speed, eight for no seat belt, three for non-moving violations, two for other hazardous moving violations, and two for no proof of insurance. One individual was arrested for misdemeanor drug possession.
“Sobriety saturations are very important in making our highways a safer place to travel,” stated Captain Johnson. “Troop C officers will be conducting various special enforcement operations throughout 2011 with a goal of reducing traffic crashes and saving lives.”
