EMPHASIS: Traffic Stop On I-70 Results in Drug Arrest
On June 26, 2007, at approximately 5:45 p.m., a member of the Missouri State Highway Patrol attempted to stop a Chevrolet 1500 for a lane violation on Interstate 70 at Missouri Highway 13. A short vehicle pursuit and foot chase ensued.
The driver, Darrell W. Doron, 49, of California, MO, was apprehended. Two grams of methamphetamine was recovered from his right front pants pocket during a search incident to his arrest. In addition to traffic charges, Doron was placed under arrest for possession of methamphetamine and transported to the Lafayette County Jail.
The charges for which Darrell W. Doron was arrested are mere accusation and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence.
