EMPHASIS: Media Invited To Press Conference


Colonel James F. Keathley, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, cordially invites the media to attend a press conference on Tuesday, January 19, 2010, regarding the significant reduction in traffic fatalities, which is the lowest in Missouri in 60 years. Members of the media may attend a press conference at any or all of the following locations:

General Headquarters, 1510 East Elm Street, Jefferson City, MO, at 8:30 a.m. in the Safety Education Center (enter through west entrance of Waggoner Building).

Troop C Headquarters, 891 Technology Drive, Weldon Spring, MO, at 10:30 a.m.

Troop D, Springfield area, held at the New Hickory Hills Elementary School at 4650 E. State Hwy YY ( E. Division Street) at 1:30 p.m.

Troop A Headquarters, 504 S.E. Blue Parkway, Lee’s Summit, MO, at 4 p.m.


Colonel Keathley will provide information regarding the decrease in traffic fatalities as it is related to commercial motor vehicles, alcohol involvement, younger drivers, older drivers, and other significant areas of concern. Dr. Leanna Depue, director of the Missouri Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Division will speak on behalf of MoDOT and the Missouri Coalition For Roadway Safety.
