EMPHASIS: Operation A.R.R.E.S.T. To Be Conducted In St. Louis County

Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, announces “Operation A.R.R.E.S.T.” (Alcohol Related Response Enforcement Strike Team). Operation A.R.R.E.S.T. will take place in St. Louis County on Saturday, January 31, 2015, beginning at 7 p.m. The operation will end at 3 a.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2015. The purpose of Operation A.R.R.E.S.T. is to increase the motoring public’s awareness of the potential hazards of operating a motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition.

Operation A.R.R.E.S.T. will utilize six Missouri state troopers to conduct this project. The six troopers have been chosen because of their dedication and leadership in removing intoxicated drivers from Missouri roadways. Troopers continually work to maximize enforcement efforts in deterring impaired driving, to remove intoxicated drivers from Missouri roadways, and to reduce fatalities and injuries through vigorous enforcement of Missouri traffic laws.

In support of "The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths," the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
