On July 23, 2008, members of the Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group (LANEG), and the Gasconade County Sheriff’s Department conducted a short-term drug investigation. As a result of this investigation, a search warrant was served on a residence in Gasconade County. An active clandestine methamphetamine laboratory, methamphetamine and items of drug paraphernalia were seized during this investigation. Jarred Passig, 25, of Rosebud, was arrested and formally charged with attempting to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $51,000 and he remains in the Gasconade County jail.
The Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group is a multi-jurisdictional drug task force. Its members include the Sheriff Departments of Gasconade, Camden, Dallas, Laclede, Pulaski, and Crawford counties, as well as the Lebanon and Osage Beach Police Departments. LANEG is governed by a Board of Directors and is coordinated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
