EMPHASIS: Results Of Sobriety Checkpoint Conducted In Caldwell County

Captain James E. McDonald, commanding officer Troop H, St. Joseph, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint in Caldwell County. The checkpoint was held from 10 p.m. on May 9, 2015, to 2 a.m. on May 10, 2015. As a result of this operation officers issued four citations, 33 warnings, made one driving while intoxicated arrest, one felony weapons arrest, and two misdemeanor drug arrests.

“Removing impaired drivers from Missouri roadways is one of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s top priorities,” states Captain McDonald. “If you choose to drink and drive, you will be arrested and you will go to jail. If your plans include alcohol, always have a sober designated driver."

In support of "The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths," the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
