EMPHASIS: Results Of Sobriety Saturation In Jefferson County
Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, announces the results of a driving while intoxicated saturation conducted on Saturday, May 7, 2011, in Jefferson County. Four Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers conducted the enforcement operation during the eight-hour project.
A total of 24 vehicles were stopped during the project. As a result of the enforcement program, a total of 22 arrests were made and 18 warnings were issued. Of the 22 arrests, two subjects were arrested for DWI, eight for speed, two for no seat belt, two for non-moving violations, four for other hazardous moving violations, and one for driving with a suspended driver’s license. Two individuals were arrested for possession of drugs, and one individual was taken into custody with an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
“Sobriety saturations are very important in making our highways a safer place to travel,” stated Captain Johnson. “Troop C officers will be conducting various special enforcement operations throughout 2011 with a goal of reducing traffic crashes and saving lives.”
