EMPHASIS: Troop C Schedules S.T.E.P/Sobriety Checkpoint


Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, announces that Troop C officers will be conducting a Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (S.T.E.P) on all the major highways in St. Louis County on July 26, 2010. Additional officers will be scheduled to patrol St. Louis County with a goal of detecting hazardous moving, alcohol, and speed violations that contribute to traffic crashes.

In addition, a sobriety checkpoint will be held sometime in July in Franklin County.

"Our goal is to positively impact traffic problems in St. Louis and Franklin counties by reducing traffic crashes through aggressive enforcement,” stated Captain Johnson. "The sobriety checkpoint continues to be an effective tool and will help us in our endeavors.”
