EMPHASIS: Hot Foot Pursuit 5k Run For Special Olympics Missouri

Employees and troopers assigned to Troop I will join personnel from law enforcement agencies throughout the six county Troop I area to support Special Olympics Missouri (SOMO) with a “Hot Foot Pursuit 5K Run” event. This is the second such event held to raise funds for SOMO athletes. The “Hot Foot Pursuit 5K Run” will start at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2013, in downtown Rolla, MO. It will coincide with the Rolla Summerfest.
An on-line registration will provide participants with a $5 discount and T-shirt in the requested size. To receive this benefit, participants need to complete the registration form at www.split-secondtiming.com by 11:45 p.m., May 24, 2013, or turn in completed registrations at Split-Second Timing, 1411 Ramsey Place, Rolla, MO 65401, by that same day. The race day registration fee is $25 for the 5k walk and $30 for the run. It is a pleasure to announce that many local businesses, along with Walgreens of Rolla, partnered with the Law Enforcement Torch Run Region 6 to make this event happen. Event flyers are available to the public at Walgreens, 120 S. Bishop Avenue, Rolla.
Through events such as this, Missouri law enforcement officers hope to raise $2.3 million for SOMO in 2013. Please help us to reach this milestone by participating this year and then making this an annual event. The success of this event will depend upon the participation of a large number of runners and walkers.
