EMPHASIS: Troop G To Offer Boater Safety Courses

Captain Dwayne F. Isringhausen, commanding officer of Troop G, Willow Springs, announces boating safety certification courses will be offered to the public at the following locations:

Saturday, March 2, 2013 -- National Park Service, 404 Watercress Drive, Van Buren, MO 63965; from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Saturday, April 20, 2013 -- First Baptist Church, 300 S. Second Street, Ellington, MO 63638; from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Students must be present to satisfy requirements for the boating safety card. There is no fee for this course and you do not need to pre-register; however, students may pre-register online and obtain a complete listing of where other courses are being offered by visiting the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s website, www.mshp.dps.mo.gov. Select “Boat Safety Education & Certification” found under the “Training” heading.

Missouri law requires any person born after January 1, 1984 to carry a boating safety certification card along with a picture ID anytime they operate a vessel, which includes personal watercraft, on Missouri lakes. Any student who successfully passes this course will be eligible to order the boating safety certification card, which costs $15.
