EMPHASIS: Announcement Of May Sobriety Saturation And Checkpoint

Captain Duane L. Robinson, commanding officer of Troop H in St. Joseph, announces that sometime during the month of May, Troop H will conduct a sobriety checkpoint and a driving while intoxicated saturation. The saturation will be held in Buchanan County and the checkpoint will be conducted in Clinton County.
The saturation is a mobile operation that targets intoxicated drivers by stopping motorists for traffic violations and then checking for intoxication. The checkpoint is a static operation on a specific highway designed to check every driver to ensure they are sober.
Captain Robinson stated, “The approach of these two programs are very different, but the result is the same: To remove all intoxicated drivers from the roadway.”
