EMPHASIS: Seeking Applicants For Community Alliance Program In North St. Louis County

The Missouri State Highway Patrol has partnered with Florissant Police Department, St. Louis County Police Department, Hazelwood Police Department, and Ferguson Police Department to provide the community with the chance to interact with their local law enforcement agencies through participation in a Community Alliance Program. The Community Alliance Program is a four-week, handson, condensed, civilian police academy expected to be both interesting and challenging. It will be highly interactive, which will allow for an exchange of ideas between law enforcement personnel teaching the various classes and the citizen students. It is expected law enforcement and the citizens they serve will gain a greater understanding of the other’s point of view and expectations.

The Community Alliance Program will take place on April 14, 21, and 28 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., with graduation taking place at 6:30 p.m. on May 5, 2015. Citizens will have the opportunity to ride with trooper or an officer on April 23, 24, 25, and 26, as part of this program. The Community Alliance Program will be held at the James J. Egan Center, 1 Civic Center Drive, Florrisant, MO 63033.
