Captain Ronald S. The purpose of Operation A.R.R.E.S.T. is to increase the motoring public’s awareness of the potential hazards of operating a motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition.

Operation A.R.R.E.S.T. was conducted from 7 p.m., on Friday, February 10, 2012, to 3 a.m., on Saturday, February 11, 2012, in Jefferson County, Missouri. This eight-hour project was conducted by six officers, who focused their enforcement efforts on identifying hazardous motor vehicle operations and impaired driving conditions. During the operation, a total of 52 vehicles were stopped. Of those stopped, 49 arrests and 35 warnings were issued. Among the arrests, four subjects were issued summonses for speed violations, 26 subjects were issued summonses for other moving and non-moving violations, and five subjects were issued summonses for seat belt violations. In addition, four subjects were arrested for misdemeanor drug violations, two subjects were arrested for outstanding misdemeanor warrants, and eight subjects were arrested for DWI.
