EMPHASIS: DWI Checkpoint In Clay County, Missouri

Captain Robert L. Powell, commanding officer of Troop A, announces a sobriety checkpoint will be held in Clay County, Missouri, sometime during the month of May. The checkpoint will be a joint effort with the Kansas City Police Department.
The checkpoint is part of the continuing effort by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and other law enforcement agencies to remove intoxicated drivers from Missouri’s highways. The checkpoint will consist of officers stopping drivers at a set location and testing those who have been drinking.
Captain Powell stated, “Removing intoxicated drivers continues to be a high priority for the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Our goal is to make travel on Missouri’s highways safer for the motoring public. If you are going to drink, please do not drive.”
