EMPHASIS: Sobriety Checkpoint Results

On May 7, 2011, a sobriety checkpoint was conducted in Buchanan County. A total of 12 troopers were assigned to the four-hour operation.
Troopers arrested one driver for felony driving while intoxicated, made two misdemeanor drug arrests, four misdemeanor warrant arrests, and issued four summonses for driver’s license violations and two to uninsured motorists. Troopers also issued 59 warnings to motorists for minor violations. A total of 204 vehicles came through the checkpoint.
Captain Duane L. Robinson stated, “Impaired drivers kill and injure innocent motorists on Missouri's roadways each year. The checkpoint is an important program to keep the highways safe for the motoring public.”
