EMPHASIS: Troop I Announces DWI Spotcheck In Crawford County

Captain Randy Becker, commanding officer of Troop I, Missouri State Highway Patrol, announces that troopers will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint in Crawford County during the month of July. The checkpoint will be staged in an area and on a highway where a larger number of alcohol-related traffic crashes occurred last year.
Captain Becker urges all motorists passing through the checkpoint to use extra caution by slowing down, keeping their eyes on the road and vehicles ahead for any sudden stopping, and to follow the directions of the officers. Motorists passing through a checkpoint should also have their driver’s license and insurance papers ready for inspection by one of the troopers.
Captain Becker stated, “We can all help make our roads safer by simply making the wise decision to not drink and drive.”
