Captain Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer of Troop I, announces the results of the “Click It Or Ticket” program that was conducted on Friday, April 26, 2013. Law enforcement agencies throughout Missouri participated in this statewide effort to get more motorists to buckle up and save more lives.
During this enforcement campaign, Troop I officers issued citations or made arrests for the following offenses:
Failure To Wear A Seat Belt: 43
Child Restraint: 2
Uninsured Motorists: 2
Speed: 3
Non-Moving Traffic Offenses: 3
Driving While Suspended Or Revoked: 3
Warnings Issued: 91
Captain Kenley stated: “Today’s vehicles have many safety features, all of which are designed around the proper use of the safety belt. We encourage the public to wear their safety belt not just because it’s the law, but rather for the value it has.”
The Patrol encourages motorists and watercraft operators to protect themselves by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint and everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life and Wear It!!!
