EMPHASIS: Troop D Announces Marijuana Eradication Numbers For 2006.
Captain Randy Beydler, commanding officer of Troop D, is proud to release 2006 eradication results. Troop D’s eradication team in cooperation with local sheriffs throughout southwest Missouri have posted an impressive number of arrests and marijuana seizures.
Marijuana eradication efforts began on May 1, 2006, with various methods being used to detect numerous patches leading to several arrests. The eradication season netted 2,075 cultivated plants and 270 sinsemilla plants. In a joint effort with the sheriffs’ departments, operation “Weed Be Gone” was conducted, with a decrease in wild plants being reported. Over 407,000 wild plants were eradicated during the operation compared to 500,000 wild plants eradicated in 2005. Forty people were arrested for producing marijuana as compared to 50 in 2005.
As the 2007 marijuana eradication campaign begins, Captain Beydler reminds all citizens, who suspect marijuana growth on their property or suspect someone of cultivating marijuana make an anonymous call to
1-800-BAD-WEED. All information resulting from these calls is collected and forwarded to the proper authorities for investigation.
