EMPHASIS: Troop C Announces Results of "Operation A.R.R.E.S.T." In St. Charles County


Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer Troop C, Weldon Spring, is pleased to announce the results of a recent enforcement detail “Operation A.R.R.E.S.T.” (Alcohol Related Response Enforcement Strike Team). The purpose of Operation A.R.R.E.S.T. is to increase the motoring public’s awareness of the hazards of operating a motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition.

Operation A.R.R.E.S.T. was conducted from 7 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2014, to 3 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2014, in St. Charles County. This eight-hour project was conducted by six officers, who focused their enforcement efforts on identifying hazardous motor vehicle violations. The following is a breakdown of the enforcement contacts:

Speed -- 8 summonses
Seat Belt -- 5 summonses
Following Too Close -- 2 summonses
Non-Moving Violation -- 4 summonses
Hazardous Moving Violation -- 11 summonses
Driving While Suspended/Revoked -- 4 summonses
No Insurance -- 4 summonses
Misdemeanor Driving While Intoxicated -- 5 arrests
Felony Driving While Intoxicated -- 1 arrest
Misdemeanor Drug Arrest -- 6 arrests
Felony Drug Arrest -- 1 arrest
Misdemeanor Warrant Arrest -- 2 arrests
Felony Warrant Arrest -- 1 arrest
Misdemeanor Criminal Arrest -- 1 arrest
Warnings -- 33

"The Missouri State Highway Patrol is very serious about removing impaired drivers from our roadways," stated Captain Johnson. "If drinking alcohol is a part of your plans, please choose a sober designated driver."

In support of “The Drive To Zero Highway Deaths,” the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
