EMPHASIS: Troop F Announces Results Of Sobriety Checkpoint -- Boone County

Captain Michael A. Turner, commanding officer of Troop F, Jefferson City, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint conducted in Miller County on Saturday, May 30, 2015. The checkpoint was held from 10 p.m. on May 30, 2015, to 2 a.m. on May 31, 2015. A total of 371 vehicles were stopped during the four-hour operation. Members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol made the following enforcement contacts:

2 -- Driving While Intoxicated Arrests
1 -- No Driver’s License Summons
1 -- Non-Moving Violation Summons
1 -- Other Hazardous Moving Violation Summons
4 -- Seat Belt Summonses
8 -- Misdemeanor Drug Arrests
4 -- Felony Drug Arrests
1 -- Minor In Possession Of Intoxicants Summons
3 -- Driving While Revoked Arrests
1 -- Misdemeanor Warrant Arrest
15 -- Warnings

The goal of DWI enforcement projects is to deter impaired driving and to make citizens aware that drinking and driving will not be tolerated. To report a suspected impaired driver dial 9-1-1 or *55 on a cellular device.

Approximately 63 percent of Missouri fatal crash victims who are required to be restrained are NOT at the time of the traffic crash. The Patrol urges motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint.
