EMPHASIS: DWI Saturation Results In St. Francois County


Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, announces the results of a driving while intoxicated saturation conducted on September 2, 2011, in St. Francois County. Four Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers conducted the enforcement operation during the eight-hour project.

As a result of the enforcement program, a total of 22 vehicles were stopped, with a total of 31 arrests being made, and 26 warnings issued. Of those, three summonses were issued for speed, three summonses was issued for a driver license violation, seven summonses were issued for other moving and non-moving violations, four summonses were written for insurance violations, and eight summonses were issued for no seat belt or child restraint violations. In addition, four subjects were arrested for DWI and two subjects were arrested for outstanding misdemeanor warrants.

“Sobriety saturations continue to be effective in removing intoxicated drivers from our roadways,” stated Captain Johnson. “Troop C officers will continue to conduct various special enforcement operations throughout the rest of the year, with a goal of reducing traffic crashes and saving lives on Missouri roadways.”
