EMPHASIS: Troop I Announces Results Of DWI Saturation

Captain Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer of Troop I, announces the results of a DWI saturation that was conducted in Crawford County on May 28, 2011.
During the operation, the three assigned troopers made three arrests for driving while intoxicated, one of which was a felony. The troopers also issued five citations for failure to wear a seat belt, one citation for failure to secure a child in a proper safety seat, one citation for failure to display proof of financial responsibility, and three citations for various hazardous moving violations. In addition to the arrests and citations, troopers also issued 26 warnings for other violations.
Captain Kenley stated, “As the summer begins, I again want to remind motorists that making our highways safer begins with each and every one of us. Remember: Inattention, speed, and driving while impaired are the major causes of most traffic crashes. By following the rules of the road, which includes always wearing a seat belt, you can greatly reduce your chances of becoming an unnecessary statistic.”
