EMPHASIS: Announcement Of Sobriety Checkpoint

Captain Johnnie B. Hoggatt, commanding officer of Troop H in St. Joseph, announces that sometime during the month of June, a sobriety checkpoint will be held in Dekalb County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol will hold this checkpoint with the assistance of the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Department.
“ The motorists who enter the checkpoint will be stopped only for a brief time, and the inconvenience will be minimal if any,” said Captain Hoggatt. “The primary mission of the Missouri State Highway Patrol is highway safety. These checkpoints target impaired drivers who cause deadly crashes each year,” the captain added.
Captain Hoggatt urges you to telephone the Patrol if you observe any vehicle being driven in an erratic manner. Drivers can use the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s toll-free numbers for reporting emergencies. These numbers are, 1-800-525-5555 or cellular * 55.
