Colonel J. Bret Johnson, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, announces the no-wake policy put into effect at the Lake of the Ozarks on July 2 will not be lifted today (Friday, July 3). Conditions will be evaluated in the morning to determine whether water levels have decreased sufficiently for the no-wake restriction to be lifted.

Water levels have been reduced but remain high. As a result, the Department of Public Safety and the Missouri State Highway Patrol are requiring all boaters to continue to use idle speed on the Lake until a determination is made that the no-wake policy can safely be lifted.

The Patrol also suggests that dock owners disconnect/turn off electricity to their docks during this time of high water.
