EMPHASIS: Sobriety Checkpoint Results
On July 3, 2009, a sobriety checkpoint was conducted in Clinton County. A total of 11 troopers were assigned to the four-hour operation.
Troopers arrested one driver for driving while intoxicated, one for minor in possession of alcohol, and issued seven summonses for other violations. Troopers also issued 72 warnings to motorists for minor violations. A total of 128 vehicles came into the checkpoint.
Captain Duane L. Robinson stated, “The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s commitment to highway safety is our priority and the checkpoint is an effective program to safeguard motorists.”
