EMPHASIS: Patrol Announces Sobriety Checkpoint In Ste. Genevieve County
Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, announces that a sobriety checkpoint will be held in Ste. Genevieve County sometime in the month of December 2012. The Missouri State Highway Patrol, in cooperation with local law enforcement agencies, will conduct the sobriety checkpoint.
Sobriety checkpoints are a part of the Patrol’s efforts to remove intoxicated drivers from Missouri’s highways and are conducted at various locations which have been found to experience a higher than normal number of alcohol-related contacts.
Captain Johnson says, "Driving while intoxicated checkpoints are a great tool in removing the intoxicated driver from Missouri's highways. If you suspect a motorist of driving while intoxicated, call the Missouri State Highway Patrol at the toll-free emergency number 1-800-525-5555 or cellular *55."
The Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves from all types of hazardous drivers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Click It 4 Life!
