EMPHASIS: Troop B Officers To Conduct Operation P.R.O.T.E.C.T. On U.S. Highway 36 In Marion County

Captain John W. Elliott, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces that sometime between October 28, 2008 and October 31, 2008, four Troop B officers will conduct a special enforcement program “Operation P.R.O.T.E.C.T.”, in Marion County, on U.S. Highway 36, west of Monroe City, Missouri.
“Operation P.R.O.T.E.C.T.” (Patrol Response Operation To Enforcement of Construction/Work zone Traffic) is an initiative to assess, identify and prioritize construction/work zones with critical issues or problems affecting highway safety through complaints from the general public, highway/construction workers, law enforcement and emergency responders. In addition, a ZERO TOLERANCE enforcement policy has been established for the operations as well as routine construction zone enforcement focusing on traffic violations, such as speeding, following too close, other hazardous moving and commercial motor vehicle violations.
