EMPHASIS: Patrol Announces DWI Saturations In Franklin, Jefferson, And Lincoln Counties

Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer, Troop C, Weldon Spring, announces that sometime during the month of July 2011, Troop C officers will conduct DWI saturations in Franklin, Jefferson, and Lincoln counties. The areas selected for enforcement are based on a high number of drinking-related crashes, high number of contacts with drivers who have been drinking, and officers’ input as to probable contact with DWI violators based on past experiences.

“The intoxicated driver continues to be a major contributor to traffic crashes in Missouri,” said Captain Johnson. “Almost 30 percent of all fatal crashes are alcohol related. Please assist the Missouri State Highway Patrol in removing impaired drivers from our roadways by contacting us toll-free 1-800-525-5555 or cellular *55.”
