EMPHASIS: Troop F Seeks Participants For Community Alliance Program

The Missouri State Highway Patrol at Troop F will be conducting a Community Alliance Program beginning Thursday, September 24, 2015, and concluding on Thursday, October 29, 2015.

The mission of the Community Alliance Program is to provide personal interaction between the community members and the Patrol. The program is designed for those possessing a strong interest in learning about the Patrol’s purpose and role within the community. The Highway Patrol is seeking 20 responsible citizens, community leaders, professionals, and business associates who are willing to participate in a program that provides a unique opportunity offered by the Patrol.

The classes will meet on one Tuesday evening and five Thursday evenings from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m., at Troop F Headquarters located at 2920 North Shamrock Road, Jefferson City, Missouri. Successful completion of the program will require attendance at each evening session. One absence will be allowed with prior approval from the program coordinator. The curriculum will familiarize participants with several Patrol policies and procedures, utilizing teaching techniques similar to those experienced by troopers attending the Missouri State Highway Patrol Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City. Many evenings will include activities and role-playing exercises that provide participants practical experience. Upon completion of the final session, a distinctive award will be presented to each successful participant.

Tentative Program Curriculum:

September 24 - History and Introduction of the Patrol
October 1 - Crime Control/Crime Scene/K-9
October 8 - Firearms/Range
October 15 - Tactical Activities/Aircraft/SWAT and Marine Operations
October 20 - Traffic Enforcement/Emergency Vehicle Operations (Tuesday)
October 29 - DWI/BWI Detection

The Patrol is accepting applications for the Community Alliance Program through September 4, 2015. This program is a semi-annual event, and there is no cost to the participants. Selection of the participants will be on a first come, first served basis and will be made following an evaluation of an application form and a criminal record check. Application forms are available at Troop F Headquarters, 2920 North Shamrock Road, Jefferson City, Missouri, or by calling Corporal Scott White at 573-751-1000, extension 3619.
