EMPHASIS: Holt County Drug Arrest

On January 22, 2008 at 1 p.m., a 1996 Saturn was stopped for speeding on Interstate 29, just north of Mound City, MO, in Holt County. During the vehicle stop, the trooper noticed marijuana in the ashtray. A search of the vehicle was conducted and approximately 71 psilocybin mushrooms were located in a backpack, in the trunk of the vehicle. Several items of drug paraphernalia were found also during the search.
The driver, David Goforth, 27, Olathe, KS, was arrested for possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and speeding. He was then transported to the Holt County Jail. Bond was set at $10,000.
The charges for which the above listed individual has been arrested are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
