EMPHASIS: Missouri State Highway Patrol Requesting Assistance With Information Regarding Leaving The Scene Of A Motor Vehicle Accident


On Sunday, August 16, 2009, at approximately 5:00 a.m., members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol were called to investigate a traffic crash on Route N, one mile east of Pomona, MO, in Howell County. Upon arrival, officers determined a vehicle had struck a pedestrian, Carl T. Bernauer, 33, West Plains, Missouri, and left the scene. Mr. Bernauer sustained serious injuries and was transported to a Springfield, Missouri hospital where he remains. The investigation continues into the identification of the driver of the vehicle.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is asking anyone who might have any information about the traffic crash or knowledge of the vehicle involved to immediately contact the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop G Headquarters at (417) 469-3121.
