EMPHASIS: Troop C Operation P.R.O.T.E.C.T. Results In Franklin County

Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, St Louis, is pleased to announce the results of the Operation P.R.O.T.E.C.T. project that was conducted on Monday, June 29, 2009, in Franklin County on Missouri Highway 100. During the eight-hour project, 14 troopers focused their attention on violations that occurred in the construction/work zone on MO 100 between Washington, Missouri, and Interstate 44.
As a result of the enforcement program, a total of 104 summonses and 79 warnings were issued. Of those summonses, 53 individuals were cited for exceeding the speed limit and 23 for no seat belt. The remainder of the summonses were issued for miscellaneous violations, and one subject was arrested on an outstanding warrant. During the eight-hour project, 125 vehicles were stopped for various traffic violations.
Captain Johnson said, “These types of operations that are conducted in construction/work zones make it safer for the motoring public, contractors, and state employees. Please obey the reduced speed limits and be attentive while driving through construction zones.”
