EMPHASIS: Troop F Announces Results Of Sobriety Checkpoint -- Miller County

Captain Michael A. Turner, commanding officer of Troop F, Jefferson City, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint conducted in Miller County on May 9, 2015. The checkpoint was held from 9 p.m. on May 9, 2015, to 1 a.m. on May 10, 2015. A total of 422 vehicles were stopped during the four-hour operation. Members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol made the following enforcement contacts:

2 -- Seat Belt Summonses
3 -- Uninsured Motorist Summonses
2 -- Misdemeanor Drug Arrests
2 -- Driving While Revoked Arrests
1 -- Misdemeanor Warrant Arrest
44 -- Warnings

The goal of DWI enforcement projects is to deter impaired driving and to make citizens aware that drinking and driving will not be tolerated. To report a suspected impaired driver dial 9-1-1 or *55 on a cellular device.

In support of "The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths," the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
