EMPHASIS: S.T.E.P. Operation In Carroll County

Captain Robert L. Powell, commanding officer of Troop A, announces that on August 8, 2009 members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol will conduct a Selective Traffic Enforcement Operation on all major highways in Carroll County.
The goal of the operation is to positively impact traffic problems throughout the county by reducing traffic crashes on all major highways. Troopers will accomplish this goal by strict enforcement of all laws related to the use of alcohol, speed, hazardous moving violations, and seat belt compliance.
Captain Powell stated, “Remember to do your part to be a safe driver. Obey the speed limit, do not drink and drive, pay attention to the job of driving, and always make sure everyone in your vehicle is properly wearing their seat belts.”
