EMPHASIS: Troop D: Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Seizure In Greene County

At approximately 2:47 p.m. on March 15, 2016, a state trooper stopped an eastbound 2005 Ford Expedition for a lane violation on Interstate 44 at Missouri Route 125 in Greene County. Suspicious circumstances led to the trooper requesting and receiving consent to search the vehicle. The search revealed 100 bundles of marijuana, weighing approximately 115 pounds, concealed inside the seats.

The driver, Joel Garcia Jr., 26, of El Paso, TX, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and second degree drug trafficking. He was transported to the Greene County Sheriff's Office in Springfield, MO.

The charges for which the above person was arrested are mere accusation and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the above charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence.
