EMPHASIS: 20-Mile Trooper Project To Be Conducted On Interstates 44 And 70

Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, announces a program designed to provide the maximum amount of manpower during the busy travel days of the Labor Day holiday weekend.

In an effort to promote safety and reduce traffic crashes on Interstates 44 and 70 in Troop C, the Missouri State Highway Patrol will have troopers patrolling at approximately 20-mile intervals on Friday, August 30, 2013, from 12 p.m. to midnight, and on Monday, September 2, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Troopers will be targeting all traffic violations, and will be especially vigilant to aggressive driving violations to promote safe driving behavior.

The Patrol encourages motorists and watercraft operators to protect themselves by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint and everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life and Wear It!!!
