EMPHASIS: Troop I Announces Results Of Sobriety Checkpoint



Captain Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer of Troop I, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint conducted in Crawford County on June 20, 2010. The checkpoint was conducted from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., on Missouri Highway 8, near the entrance to the Steelville City Park. During the course of the four-hour operation troopers stopped 350 vehicles. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation:

DWI Arrests - 4
Seat Belt Violations - 15
Driver’s License Violations - 8
Uninsured motorists Violations - 7
Careless and Imprudent Driving - 1
Misdemeanor Warrant Arrest - 1
Misdemeanor Drug Violation - 1
Other Misdemeanor Criminal Arrests - 1
Warnings - 62

Captain Kenley stated: “I would like to thank everyone who was stopped at the checkpoint for their patience. These types of enforcement operations continue to improve the safety of our highways.”
