EMPHASIS:
Results Of Troop D Truck Check
Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, Springfield, announces the results of the Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP) truck check, which was conducted from September 13 through September 15, 2016, in Greene, Lawrence, Jasper, and Newton counties. This operation was conducted by commercial vehicle enforcement troopers, commercial vehicle officers, and commercial vehicle inspectors from Troops A, C, D, E, F, G, H, and GHQ.
The goal of the operation was to remove unsafe commercial vehicles and unqualified or impaired drivers from Missouri roadways. During the three days of enforcement, officers inspected 420 commercial vehicles with 1,093 violations discovered. There were 34 drivers and 102 vehicles placed out-of-service. In addition, 126 total arrests were made for various criminal and traffic violations.
During last year’s truck check, officers inspected 426 commercial vehicles with 798 violations discovered. There were 25 drivers and 82 vehicles placed out-of-service in 2015.
The only 100 percent survivable traffic crash is the one that never happens. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Every day as we travel on Missouri’s roadways, we trust that every driver on the road is going to obey the speed limit, pay attention, and drive sober.
“Don’t Violate The Trust.”
