EMPHASIS: Results Of 2012 "Click It 4 Life" Campaign In Troop C
Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, announced today the results of "Click It 4 Life" campaign which was conducted throughout the 11 counties that encompass Troop C. This enforcement campaign included checkpoints and saturations which were held during the months of October, November, and December 2012. The primary focus of the campaign was to target aggressive and impaired driving while strictly enforcing the seat belt and child restraint laws. A total of 436 non-commercial and nine commercial vehicles were stopped. The following is a list of enforcement contacts from the operation:
Preliminary enforcement totals show officers issued 497 citations and 428 warnings. The citations are as follows:
Speed -- 115 summonses
Seat Belt -- 139 summonses
Child Restraint -- 6 summonses
Careless and Imprudent -- 2 summonses
Hazardous Moving -- 20 summonses
Uninsured Motorists -- 54 summonses
Driver's License/Suspended/Revoked -- 20 summonses
Nonmoving Traffic Violations -- 85 summonses
Commercial Vehicle Violation -- 1 summons
Fail to Signal -- 2 summonses
Stop Sign Violation -- 1 summons
Failed to Yield -- 3 summonses
Following Too Close -- 8 summonses
The following arrests were made:
Felony DWI -- 1 arrest
Misdemeanor Arrests -- 34 arrests
Felony Arrests -- 6 arrests
Captain Johnson stated, “The Missouri State Highway Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves from all types of hazardous drivers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Click It 4 Life!”
